The Africa Minerals Strategy Group (AMSG) will host its second High-Level Roundtable Event on Critical Minerals Development in Africa on September 22, 2025, in New York, on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly.
The event will bring together African Heads of State, ministerial representatives, multilateral institutions, and global private sector executives to discuss Africa’s role in the critical minerals economy.
A statement by the Secretary-General of AMSG, Moses Micheal Engadu, noted that the objective of the event is to forge a common African voice on critical minerals development, advance global partnerships and investments in Africa’s mineral sector.
He added that the roundtable event will harmonise policies and mobilise essential capital for sustainable development forging a common African voice, advancing global partnerships
According to him, the event will ensure that Africa’s mineral wealth benefits its people and fosters transparent and responsible global partnerships
He further said: “Africa’s critical minerals are not just a resource; they are the foundation of global sustainable development and a catalyst for our continent’s industrialization.”
He hinted that the AMSG roundtable is strategically partnered and supported by Core International, a leading firm in the industry, noting: “High-impact partnerships between private sector leaders and African governments results to tangible results and investments in Africa’s mineral sector, strengthened African position in the global critical minerals landscape
He stated that the Africa minerals strategy group is an intergovernmental organisation and continental specialised agency for critical minerals development in Africa.
“Its mission is to ensure Africa reclaims agency over its mineral wealth and plays a leading role in the global mineral economy and supporting the energy transition.
