Themed “Montage FM 99.7: Empowering Youth, Uniting Communities Through Football,” the tournament kicks off on November 18, 2025, with playoffs scheduled in all six Area Councils of the FCT.
A total of 24 teams—four from each council—will battle for a cash prize exceeding ₦2 million and other valuable rewards, culminating in a grand finale on December 7, 2025, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, tournament coordinator Mr. Raphael Ekpang described the event as a pivotal initiative that uses sport to drive unity and youth engagement.
“I am honored to announce the upcoming Montage FCT Community Football Tournament—a dynamic grassroots inter‑community football competition that promises to unite communities and discover hidden talent across the six Area Councils in the FCT,” he said.
Ekpang added that the tournament is more than just football; it celebrates community spirit and youth empowerment, with plans to later expand into basketball and athletics.
Registration and awareness campaigns are currently underway, and Ekpang urged interested teams and individuals to take part. He thanked sponsors and partners for sharing the vision, while inviting more organizations and individuals to join the cause.
The organizers emphasized that the tournament aligns with Montage FM 99.7’s mission to promote peace, unity, and positive youth engagement, reinforcing its brand as a youth‑driven, community‑focused platform.
