The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) has signalled its readiness to partner with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to strengthen youth mentorship, corps empowerment and national integration initiatives.
CIPM Registrar and Chief Executive, Ms Oluwatoyin Naiwo, made this known during a courtesy visit to the NYSC Headquarters in Abuja. She noted that the institute, established by an Act of Parliament in 2004, remains the only statutory regulator of human resource management practice in Nigeria.

According to Naiwo, the institute currently boasts over 20,000 certified members, including senior public officials, and operates five zonal offices nationwide, with its headquarters in Lagos.
She commended the NYSC for its reforms centred on skills development, digital innovation and employability, describing the scheme as a strong platform for preparing young Nigerians for the workforce.
Naiwo stressed the need for corps members to be properly guided on post-service career opportunities and proposed that CIPM be given the opportunity to make presentations during NYSC orientation courses.
She said such engagements would expose corps members to workplace realities and structured career planning.
Responding, NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, expressed the scheme’s willingness to collaborate with organisations committed to youth development and national integration.
He noted that corps members are always eager for opportunities that add value to their personal and professional growth.
The Director-General added that both organisations would set up a joint technical team to work out modalities for implementing the proposed collaboration.
