APC deputy women leader, Hajiya Zainab organises free medical outreach for staff

The Deputy National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hajiya Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim, has led a free medical outreach at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, on Wednesday.

The initiative, themed “Know Your Status”, offered free blood pressure and blood sugar testing to party staff, benefiting 192 individuals.

The beneficiaries also received medical consultations, health talks, and lifestyle advice from a team of professional doctors and nurses.

In an interview with journalists, Hajiya Zainab emphasized that the outreach was a direct response to growing health risks, especially the increasing incidence of sudden deaths linked to undiagnosed conditions.

The Deputy National Women leader noted that a healthy workforce is a productive workforce and that early detection and management of lifestyle-related illnesses like hypertension and diabetes are crucial.

Spark News Naija reports that the outreach, which included the distribution of palliatives such as rice, bread, and cooked meals, was designed to alleviate poverty and improve citizens’ welfare.

Hajiya Zainab stressed that women were a key focus, given their unique health challenges, but the outreach was open to all to foster unity and inclusion.

She emphasized that the outreach would not be a one-time event, but rather a routine effort to create a healthier environment for party staff.

“Health is wealth, and we must prioritize it,” she said, calling on Nigerians to take their health seriously through regular checkups and early interventions.
