N3tr Needed to Complete Discontinued NNPCL Projects – Works Minister

The Minister of Works, His Excellency, Sen. Engr. Nweze David Umahi, on Wednesday said a total of N3 trillion is needed to complete the discontinued Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) funded road infrastructure projects.

Spark News Naija reports that NNPCL had announced its discontinuation of funding for road infrastructure projects from August 1st, 2025.

Consequently, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assured of continuous funding and guaranteed that no project would be abandoned.

However, briefing journalists at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Mabushi-Abuja, Engr. Umahi said a memo on the projects would be forwarded to Mr President for approval, disclosing that a total of N3tr is required to complete the projects.

According to him, President Tinubu has directed that an alternative funding mechanism should be put in place to complete the projects.

“Like I said for the NNPCL projects, we’ll need a total of N3 trillion to have them totally completed

“So, we have compiled them and we are going to make a memo to Mr President on that. In the last FEC meeting, the president directed that we should provide another means of funding to complete the projects”, he said.
