The All Progressives Congress (APC), National Working Committee (NWC), led by Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has announced the dissolution of the Enugu State Executive Committee of the party.
Arising from the 179th meeting of the NWC, on Thursday, 9th October 2025, in Abuja, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, said the dissolution of the APC Enugu State Executive Committee is with immediate effect, following a comprehensive review of the state of the party in Enugu State.
Briefing journalists, Hon. Meseko said the dissolution became imperative after all the mechanisms put in place to address the internal rancor, resulting in factions that failed to yield the desired outcome.
He said the NWC has also approved the appointment of a caretaker committee to oversee the party’s affairs in the state for the meantime.
The seven (7) member Caretaker Committee includes:
Dr. Ben Nwoye – Chairman
H.E. Mrs. Fidelia Njoeze – Member
Comrade Peter Chime – Member
Dr. (Mrs.) Oby Ajih – Member
Dr. Chiedozie Nwafor – Member
Engr. Emma Ekeh – Member
Rt. Hon. Eugene Odoh – Secretary.
Spark News Naija reports that the caretaker committee will be inaugurated on Friday, 10th October, 2025, at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
In a related development, the NWC has disqualified Engr. Ojo Kayode from vying for the party’s ticket in the Ekiti State governorship election.
According to Meseko, Engr. Kayode was disqualified because his application was not in conformity with the party’s constitution. Also disqualified is Mrs. Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi.
However, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and Mrs. Atinuke Oluremi Omolayo was cleared to contest for the party’s primary election.
The APC primary for Ekiti State governorship election is slated for October 27th, 2025.
