President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has presented the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, with the prestigious Award of Excellence in Maritime Infrastructure Modernization & Global Competitiveness.
The award was presented at the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS) held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
Dr. Dantsoho was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the modernization of Nigeria’s maritime infrastructure, including the implementation of the National Single Window (NSW) and the Port Community System (PCS).
His leadership has also helped to increase Nigeria’s influence in the global maritime community, with the country currently holding the presidency of the Port Management Association of West Africa (PMAWCA) and the vice-presidency of the International Association for Ports & Harbours (IAPH).
The award is a testament to Dr. Dantsoho’s commitment to excellence in public service and his dedication to transforming Nigeria’s maritime sector. Under his leadership, the NPA has made significant strides in improving port efficiency, increasing trade volumes, and enhancing transparency.
