The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the minimum cut-off mark for admission into Nigerian universities for the 2025/2026 academic session is 150.
The cut-marks for other institutions include, Colleges of Nursing Sciences, 140; Polytechnics, 100; Colleges of Education, 100 and Colleges of Agriculture, 100.
The cut-off marks were determined after extension deliberation by head of institutions – Vice-Chancellors, Rectors and Provosts, during the 2025 Policy Meeting on Admissions held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, on Tuesday.
In the same vein, the Federal Government has set 16 years as the minimum admissible age for candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
This age requirement will be enforced through JAMB’s Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), with flexibility granted to applicants who will turn 16 by August 31, 2025.
Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, announced the new policy, emphasizing that the government aims to align Nigeria’s education system with international standards.
