The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, announced the sudden demise of Zainab Joy Momodu after a brief illness.
A statement by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa said Momodu, who joined the Nigerian Foreign Service in 2010, was serving as Charge d’Affaires at the Embassy of Nigeria in Guinea-Bissau.
He described her as a hardworking and dedicated career diplomat who served Nigeria with distinction.
“The Ministry extends condolences to her family, colleagues, and friends, praying for her soul’s peaceful repose and comfort for those mourning her loss”, the statement read.
