Buhari’s Death: NASS suspends legislative activities 

The National Assembly of Nigeria has suspended all legislative activities until Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in honour of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in London, United Kingdom. 

A statement signed by Kamoru Ogunlana Esq, Clerk to the National Assembly said the rescheduling of plenary sessions allows members to participate in the burial activities of the former President and Commander-in-Chief.

The leadership of the National Assembly extended condolences to the government and people of Nigeria, the government and people of Katsina State, and the Buhari family.

“President Buhari will be remembered for his commitment to Nigeria’s unity and integrity. The National Assembly prayed for his soul to rest in Aljannatul Firdaus”, the statement read.
