New APC National Chairman, Prof. Yilwatda assumes office

The newly appointed national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, wasted no time in hitting the ground running as he resumed office immediately after being sworn-in. 

Spark News Naija reports that Prof. Yilwatda emerged the national chairman of the APC on Thursday during its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the State House.

The new national chairman, in company of his entourage, arrived at the Party’s National Secretariat, at No 40, Blantyre Street Wuse ll Abuja, at about 4:25pm.

The former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs made his way into the building while his supporters were heard chatting, “The chairman, after God na you”.

Presiding over his first National Working Committee (NWC) meeting, he charged members on collective efforts to move the Party to a more desirable height.

“I know that I have people around me, veterans, supporters, friends as members of the National Working Committee. You’ve been my friend, you’ve been my partner and I expect nothing less from you, than joining hands together as a team, working together to ensure that we expand this party.

“We will increase membership, we will deepen technology that you have already started and ensure that this Party is transparent.

“This Party enjoys the support of Nigerians and even beyond the shores of Nigeria to diaspora, they recognise all the members of the Party who are working for it. It’s you that has made this Party tick.

“The trust that you have for APC and the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President, will drive us to help the Executive and the people of Nigeria,

“Like I said in my acceptance speech, all of us here, especially the NWC, we are the mechanics, the Party is a vehicle, we will fix it, we will drive it, we will work on it and ensure that we get to the destination of our choice.

“It’s our collective effort and I’m sure by the time we put our hands on the deck collectively, this Party will be greater, this party will be the joy and the pride of the entire nation and that’s what I look forward to under our collective leadership”, he stated.
