Social media activist VeryDarkMan has rejected a proposed boxing match against singer Portable, citing a N120 million offer from music executive Soso Soberekon as “disrespectful”.
In an Instagram video, VeryDarkMan claimed he wouldn’t consider the fight for less than $1 million, referencing a past offer to fight 50 Cent where he was offered $100,000 but demanded $1 million due to the disparity in proposed payouts.
VeryDarkMan emphasized his self-worth, stating, “N100 million cannot even buy you a good house in Abuja”. He demanded that Soso Soberekon bring $500,000 upfront before discussing the fight further, doubting that Soso has that kind of money. “If you don’t have that money, please don’t put my name on your page again,” he warned.
The proposal followed an online feud between Portable and VeryDarkMan, with Soso Soberekon attempting to turn their conflict into a pay-per-view boxing event. VeryDarkMan’s response has sparked widespread reactions, with fans taking sides in what could have been one of Nigeria’s most talked-about celebrity boxing events.
