Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has dismissed concerns about the African Democratic Congress (ADC) posing a threat to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to Governor Sule, APC is focused on delivering good governance and is not distracted by opposition coalitions.
Speaking to journalists after a visit to APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, at the Party’s national secretariat on Friday, he noted that the ADC is a splinter group from another party and is likely to weaken further.
“I don’t know about ADC, ADC actually, from what I was told, is a split, not from our party, but from another party, and so if it is a split from another party, well, they are only getting weaker, you know, so as far as we are concerned, we are not worried about that.
“We have never been worried about opposition, we have always been concerned about our strength and what we need to do in order to give back to the good people of Nigeria,” he said.
Governor Sule also expressed confidence in the APC’s leadership under Professor Yilwatda, describing him as the right person to steer the Party at this time.
He added that the party is strong and is getting stronger under the chairman’s leadership.
The governor highlighted the state’s progress in agriculture, attributing it to improved security that has allowed farmers to return to their lands. He said the state has acquired 10,000 hectares of land for farming, with 2,000 hectares cultivated for rice production last year and an additional 1,300 hectares cleared this year.
