Badaru represents Nigeria at 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum

In a significant demonstration of Nigeria’s commitment to global security cooperation, the Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar CON, mni, is currently in Beijing representing Nigeria at the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, which commenced today.

The Xiangshan Forum has convened defence and military leaders from over 100 nations, including prominent participants from Singapore, Russia, France, Vietnam, Brazil, and Nigeria. The theme for this year’s forum is “Upholding International Order and Promoting Peaceful Development,” highlighting the critical importance of collaborative international efforts in maintaining peace and stability.

In a statement by Mati Ali, Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Honourable Minister, on Wednesday, said the forum’s comprehensive agenda consists of four plenary sessions and eight simultaneous sessions, focusing on key topics such as global security governance, Asia-Pacific security cooperation, safeguarding international order, and fostering regional peace.

Spark News Naija reports that these discussions aim to enhance diplomatic relationships and share best practices among nations to address shared security challenges.

The Minister’s attendance underlines Nigeria’s proactive role in international defense dialogues and its commitment to contributing to global peace initiatives.
