Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election has sympathised with the families of a veteran journalist, Hajiya Bilikisu Babangida and sport administrator, Alhaji Abba Abdullahi Yola, who were both lost to the cold hands of death.
In his condolences message posted on his X handle on Wednesday, the former Governor of Kano State wrote;
“I am saddened to learn of the passing of Hajiya Bilikisu Babangida, a veteran voice in international broadcasting with the BBC, and previously the VOA.
“Her loss leaves a huge void in the quest for journalistic excellence in our country.
“I extend my sincere condolences to her family, friends and colleagues at the BBC.
“My deepest condolences also go to the family and friends of Alhaji Abba Abdullahi Yola, who led Kano Pillars Football Club during my second tenure as governor of Kano State.
“Alhaji Yola most prominently led Pillars to immeasurable success that included a streak of three consecutive NPFL titles, a feat that has proven difficult to replicate.
“May the Almighty Allah grant them Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen”.
